
ATHLETICS FEDERATION OF MOLDOVA
The Athletics Federation of Moldova (Federatia de Atletism din Republica Moldova, abbreviated FAM) is the organisation responsible for the promotion, development and regulation of athletics in the Republic of Moldova. The Moldovan Athletics Federation was founded after the independence of Moldova from the Soviet Union in 1991. FAM is a member of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), now known as World Athletics. It is also affiliated to European Athletics.
It is divided into several commissions in charge of different aspects of athletics, such as talent development, competition organisation and coach education. It also organises national athletics championships in various categories and disciplines, both outdoors and indoors. It promotes participation in international events, including the Olympic Games, World and European Championships. It promotes youth athlete development programmes and the training of coaches and officials.
The federation maintains an online presence through its official website and social media, where it provides information on events, results and news related to Moldovan athletics.
