Joma has been the official sponsor of five national federations at the European Athletics Championship 2022: Spain, Slovenia, Serbia, Ireland and Czech Republic. In addition, it has provided the equipation to six other countries: Albania, Andorra, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Macedonia and Moldova, becoming the brand with the biggest presence in the competition.

The Joma Athletics Federations have won a total of 21 medals in the European Athletics Championships 2022 which took place in Munich. With Spain at the head of the Joma Team and in fifth place in the general medals table, the five national delegations sponsored by Joma have all taken their turn on the podium on the last day of the European event.

Spain, beating records with 10 medals

At the close of the European Championships, Spain has beaten records with 10 medals: 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze, each in their own name. As well as the gold medal won by Mariano García in the 800 m, there were the golds for Álvaro Martín in the 20 km race walk, Asier Martínez in the 110 metre hurdles and Miguel Ángel López in the 35 km race walk. There was silver for Raquel González Campos in the same event, for Mohamed Katir in the 5.000 metres and for the men’s marathon team. Bronze was awarded to Mario García for the 1.500 metres, Diego García Carrera for the 20 km race walk and the women’s marathon team. With these results, the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation has shown that it always achieves its targets on a European level.

The unstoppable European Joma Team

As for the Serbian delegation, in this European Athletics Championship 2022, they have won the sum of 4 medals: 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze. The athlete Ivana Vuleta attained the top position on the podium with the long jump, while Adriana Vilagos and Armin Sinancevic took the silver in the javelin and shot put respectively. Likewise, another woman has won the bronze for Serbia: Angelina Topic in the high jump.

In its Munich debut with Joma, the Czech Republic has won a further 3 medals for their athletics record book: 1 silver and 2 bronze. In his country’s first European Championships with Joma, the Czech athlete, Jakub Vadkejch took second place in the javelin. In the same category, Barbora Spotáková won the bronze. The other bronze was awarded to Tomas Stanek in the shot put.

Lastly, both Slovenia and Ireland have been awarded 2 medals: a silver for Armin Sinancevic in the shot put and a bronze for Tina Sutej in the pole vault, and for Ireland, a silver for Ciara Mageenin the 1.500 m and a bronze for Mark English in the 800 m. Both medals were the final touch to the 21 that Joma athletics has been awarded in this European Championship in Munich.
