Villarreal once again made history after defeating Hajduk Split and becoming the first Spanish team to qualify for the Conference League.
Villarreal has done it again. The Submarine once again defeated Hajduk Spilt in Croatia with a hard-fought 6-2 aggregate victory. Thanks to two goals from Alfonso Pedraza and Chukwueze in this last match, the first participation of a Spanish team in the Conference League, the third continental competition, is confirmed.
Despite that Hajduk were a dangerous team, Villarreal played relatively calm, but without letting their guard down for a single moment. With the 4-2 win in the first leg, the tie was practically settled when Pedraza scored the first goal after 37 minutes. Then, it was Chukwueze giving the Yellow Submarine the definitive victory.
