For the fifth time in the last five years, the Hispanos reached the podium winning the bronze medal at the 2023 World Championship after a 36-39 victory over Sweden.
In the match for third place in the 2023 World Championship, Spain defeated Sweden in Stockholm 36:39, 22:18 at halftime. The Hispanos then took the bronze prize, proving once again that they never give up, being Hispano is giving it all to the end.
Although the Swedes seemed unstoppable, Spain managed to impose itself at the end of the match, definitively clinching the victory with three minutes to left with a spectacular collision between Angel Fernandez and Alex Dujshebaev. There was no doubt that they wanted the bronze medal more than anyone else, and they ended up getting it.
This way, the national team sums up its fifth World Championship medal, after the 2005 and 2013 gold medals. In addition, this medal means that Spain, as third classified for the World Championship, will participate in the pre-Olympic tournament giving access to the Olympic Games of Paris 2024, thanks to the result of the European Championship 2024.
