Inter Movistar were crowned King’s Cup 2017 (Cuidad Real 2017) futsal champions on Sunday 13 March when they defeated El Pozo Murcia in a penalty shoot-out 8-9.
In the closely contested final, Rafael, sponsored by Joma and star of the Spanish sports brands’ ‘Let them Take You’ campaign, was voted ‘Most Valuable Player’ as he scored two of Inter Movistar’s four goals. Teammate, Jesus Velasco, another player sponsored by Joma was also an important part of Movistar’s success.
In the first half, Rafael scored to put Inter Movistar ahead 1-2 and again in the second half to bring the scores level at 3-3. Rafael continued to influence the pattern of the game with a quite outstanding performance and ensured his team lifted the prestigious King’s Cup trophy by scoring his penalty as Movistar won 4-5.
