Joma earns six medals at the 2023 European Cross Country Championship

In total, #JomaTeam athletics accumulated three medals for Spain, two for the Irish national team, and one individually for Italy at the 2023 European Cross Country Championship.

Laeken Park in Brussels hosted the 2023 European Cross Country Championship where #JomaTeam athletics won several medals despite the muddy terrain. Although the conditions were not the best, the Joma athletes ended last Sunday adding new medals to their collection: three for Spain and two for Ireland.

On one hand, Spain‘s women’s national team finished runner-up in Europe. The Spanish athletes managed to control the chasing groups finishing the race in second position, just behind Great Britain.

Similarly, the sub-20 boys gave Spain another title by winning bronze after a memorable race. Their outstanding performance made it possible for them to win the first medal of the day. In the sub-23 women’s category, the RFEA brought home their second bronze medal as a team. In the end, Spain finished ninth place in the overall medal standings.

On the other hand, Ireland added two medals to the #JomaTeam. Athlete Nick Griggs won bronze leading his country to win gold in the sub-20 team event. The new Irish generation is making a strong impact and was evident on the muddy Laeken trails. The FIDAL closed the day with an individual silver medal
