Spanish Racewalking Championship: #JomaTeam results

Spanish racewalking gathered in Zaragoza at the Spanish Championship with a strong Joma presence through its sponsored athletes. Some of them, like Raquel González, ended up on the podium.

A weekend in Zaragoza dedicated to the XCIII Spanish Racewalking Championship has come to an end. Two decades later, the city has once again hosted this event. Joma had a strong presence there through its athletes, who competed in the different events of the absolute, under-23, and under-20 male and female categories. In total, more than ten racewalkers completed the #JomaTeam in Zaragoza, with some of them reaching the podium.

Specifically, Raquel González won bronze in the 20 km absolute category with a time of 1:29:07. This achievement earned her a direct preselection for the World Racewalking Team Championships in Antalya and the Olympic minimum standard set by World Athletics for Paris 2024. Also, Joma athlete Antía Chamosa crossed the finish line in fifth place, very close to her personal best time (1:31:41), increasing her pace as the race progressed. In the men’s absolute category, Alberto Amezcua stood out in fourth place (1:19:44).

It is also worth mentioning the performance of Joma athletes in the 20 km under-23 categories, with silver of young promises like Pablo Rodríguez and Celia Vilchez, and 10 km under-20 with gold of Aldara Meilán and bronzes of Julia Suárez and Daniel Morilla.

Likewise, among the organizers of the event has been the RFEA, also sponsored by Joma, whose objective has been the qualification for the Paris Olympic Games.

The footwear worn by Joma athletes at the Spanish Racewalking Championship

All of them competed wearing Joma’s high-end technical footwear: the R line. For example, Raquel González wore the R.3000 with a carbon fiber plate, developed to compete at very fast paces, providing top propulsion. Another model of sneakers that the racewalkers wore at the Spanish Racewalking Championship were the R.4000, also intended for fast paces and with an exceptionally good technique.
