The Spanish Rugby Team defeated Romania 33-40 winning bronze medal at the 2024 European Championship. The Lions celebrated the overwhelming victory against the Eastern European team, the seventh in their history and the first away from home.
Spain dominated the first half with an epic comeback and a brilliant start in the second half. A total of 6 Spanish tries were enough to defeat Romania. This way, The Lions, a young and talented group, ended up making history by winning bronze at the European Championship, even against all odds.
Now, Spain begins its journey towards Australia. This comeback has given them the option to be present at the 2027 World Cup. A fantastic opportunity that they hope to take advantage of thanks to the expansion to 24 participating teams. Specifically, Europe will have three teams directly qualified, if not four, and another spot to fight for a second chance to qualify.
