Italy has become the champion of Europe for the first time and Spain has reached a historic fourth place in the 2023 European Athletics Team Championships.
Firstly, Italy has been crowned champion of Europe after dominating the first day and achieving 426.5 points in the competition. The European Athletics Team Championships has brought the #JomaTeam no less than 14 medals: six gold, five silver and three bronze.
For its part, Spanish athletics is also celebrating after gaining the highest position in its history: fourth place in the European team championships. Within the actions of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA), also sponsored by Joma, stand-out successes included Mohamed Katir and Esther Guerrero in the 1500 metres, Thierry Ndikumwenayo in the 5000 metres and Daniel Arce in the 3000 metre steeplechase. Four golds which, among other aspects, have led Spain to reach this record, scoring 351 points in the final ranking.
It is also worth mentioning that the Czech Republic, another #JomaTeam present in the European Athletics Team Championships, has made it into the top 10 nations, accumulating 303.5 points. Specifically, Amálie Švábíková crossed the bar at 460 centimetres in the high jump and took third place in the elite group of teams.

Finally, the 2023 European Athletics Team Championships has taken place in Silesia (Poland) and forms part of the European Games. In fact, this multi-sport event is allocating direct qualifying places for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. From 20th to 25th June, 15 Joma federations have competed within the three divisions after finishing at the top of the competition. A large presence in which the brand has proven its strong position in athletics ahead of its competitors.
