Joma rated third most important brand in world football

Joma, the Spanish sports brand has been rated as the third most important brand in world football with 26 professional clubs wearing the distinctive logo in the top 20 leagues.

The study has been compiled by Brazilian agency Jambo Sport Business and has been based across the 2016/17 season, covering 368 teams, competing in the top 20 leagues. Nike heads the list with 79 representative clubs, followed by Adidas with 74. Joma, thanks to an impressive recruitment campaign which began with 11 teams in the 2013/14 season, grew to 17 in 2014/15 and then 22 last season, now occupy third place with a total of 26 clubs, equating to 7% of the overall availability.

The study also acknowledges Joma’s brand presence in the top five most important leagues, again occupying third position and leap-frogging Puma with the number of representative clubs in the English Premier League, Germany’s Bundesliga, Spain’s La Liga, the Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1. Over the past three seasons, Joma’s representative clubs have grown from four to seven and now nine across the top five leagues and demonstrates the success of the brand’s strategic process.
