Italy is proclaimed champion in the European Team Championships

The Italian delegation earned 426.5 points in the final ranking and obtained the best medal with 14 podiums (+1): six gold, five silver and three bronze.

The day of the European Team Championships ended with Italy being crowned as the European champion. Italian athletes dominated the competition from the beginning and achieved a total of 426.5 points.

The Italian team also won the athletics medal in the European Games with no less than 14 medals (+1): six gold, five silver and three bronze. Many athletes took to the podium during the awards ceremony, which has taken Italy to the top and demonstrated its strength in this discipline.

The gold winners were Samuele Ceccarelli (100 metres), Gianmarco Tamberi (high jump, Alessandro Sibilio (400 hurdles), Zane Weir (shot put), Sara Fatini (hammer throw) and Tobia Bocchi (triple jump). A gold medal was also added to the collection for the victory in the team competition.

On the other hand, the silver went to Nadia Battocletti in her series, the men’s 4×100 team and Mattia Furlani in the long jump, among others. Finally, the bronze medals were won by Yeman Crippa in the 5000 metres and Larissa Iapichino in the triple jump.

The 2023 European Team Championships was held in Silesia (Poland) and is part of the European Games. In fact, in this multi-sport event, direct qualifying places are being distributed for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.  From 20 to 25 June, 15 Joma federations competed within the three divisions to finish in the highest positions of the competition, along with Italy becoming the European champion. A sweeping presence in which the brand reigns victoriously over its competitors.
