The official Supercross Acea Run Rome The Marathon shoe has undergone a double renewal in both model and design. From the XXVIII edition onwards, runners will travel the streets of Rome with another one of Joma’s high-end shoes: the Supercross. This change has been made with the aim of optimizing cushioning, stability, and comfort, as well as making post-marathon recovery easier.
Nothing more and nothing less than 42,195 km make up the Rome Marathon 2023 route. Participants will tread on the most relevant streets of the city with the new exclusive shoe on March 19, 2023. And, of course, world-renowned monuments and historical sites will be passed by runners during this important event, such as the Roman Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, and St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican, among others.
The colors of the Rome flag as protagonists of the design
For the new edition of the official shoes of Acea Run Rome The Marathon, we have chosen the colors of the Rome flag. Pompeian red and golden yellow bathe the decoration based on the glory gestures of the gladiators who fought in the Roman Colosseum.
Both colors were inherited from the city’s shield, which in turn comes from the flags they had in the Roman Empire. The result is the combination of history and tradition poured into a completely current aesthetic.
Technical characteristics of the Supercross Acea Run Rome The Marathon
The Supercross trainers are designed to withstand the pace required by the competition at long and medium distances. They are perfect for runners who need the best in terms of shock absorption and stability. They incorporate FULL DUAL PULSOR technology in the midsole, a double density system consisting of the revolutionary lower REACTIVE BALL.
On the other hand, the upper is manufactured in lightweight and flexible material, accompanied by VTS ventilation technology. JOMA’s SPORTECH system inserted in the seamless upper optimises the fit and hold without adding any extra weight.
Another characteristic of the Supercross trainer is that the sole consists of DURABILITY rubber with a high abrasion resistance on tarmac, situated in the areas that come into contact with the ground to retain the light weight. Equally, the FLEXO lines facilitate the naturalness and the transition of the footstep.
