The Cuban national team, whose official technical sponsor is Joma, won the silver medal in the Concacaf Futsal Championship, held in Managua, after being defeated 4-3 by Panama.
The Cuban futsal team has qualified for the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup, which will be held from September 14 to October 6 in Uzbekistan. The match started with the absence of their top scorer and captain, Jonathan Hernández, due to accumulation of yellow cards. Nevertheless, the Cuban futsal team showed their courage, bravery, and talent, but ultimately could not secure the victory with a 4-3 loss against the Panama national team.
One of the main objectives of this tournament for the Cuba national team was to secure direct qualification to the Fifa World Cup in Uzbekistan 2024, which was achieved after defeating Costa Rica in the semifinals, one of the highest ranked teams in the region.
