After winning the Pro Men category at Hyrox Valencia in 55:29, the Joma athlete highlights the shoes’ grip during functional exercises and responsiveness on the run.
Roberto Viciedo has shared his verdict on Joma’s first footwear development for hybrid competition: the RH shoes. After winning Pro Men at Hyrox Valencia 2026 in 55:29, the Joma athlete explained how the model performed in a competition that alternates running with functional exercises.
The victory in Valencia adds another competitive benchmark for the RH. According to Viciedo, the shoes delivered a dynamic response during the running segments and controlled footing at the stations, where movement patterns and grip requirements constantly change.
When every second counts, footwear makes the difference
Viciedo highlighted “exceptional grip, especially in the push”, said the shoes also worked “very well in the pull” and described their responsiveness while running as “incredible”.
His feedback covers several key factors when choosing shoes for hybrid competition. The footwear must provide traction during the sled push and sled pull, support the transition back to running after each station and maintain controlled footing during exercises involving constant changes of movement.
How are the Joma RH built for hybrid competition?
The Joma RH are designed to balance speed on the run with the control required at each station.
- Technical upper: nylon yarn reinforced with polyamide creates a lightweight, breathable structure. The secure fit supports multidirectional movements, while its flexibility follows the foot during running.
- Midsole with Fly Reactive and Carbon Plate: provides cushioning and energy return. Its construction balances responsiveness during running with the stability required for functional exercises.
- Stable, grippy outsole: provides reliable ground contact and traction during acceleration, braking, changes of direction and stations requiring controlled foot placement.
