For the celebration of the XVI edition of the Maratona do Porto, Joma has changed to the R.2000 model adapting to all types of runners and providing them with superior comfort and propulsion.
The official R.2000 Maratona do Porto shoes have undergone double renovation in both model and design. Starting from the XVI edition, participants will traverse the streets of Porto with the most complete, versatile, and comfortable shoes of the Joma running shoes catalogue: the R.2000. This change has been made with the intention of reaching all types of runners and providing them with maximum comfort, even during their recovery. Versatility, breathability, cushioning, and reactivity represent some of its strong points.
Nothing more and nothing less than 42 km make up the route of this great Portuguese running event. During the course, participants will pass through the city center, along the coast, and by the Douro River. And they will do so, with the new exclusive shoe in the next month of November.
A design transporting you to the sunsets in the city
The new design of the R.2000 Maratona do Porto is inspired by the beautiful sunsets of Porto. This is the reason why the chosen colors are orange and blue, uniting the sky and the sea in one of the most magical moments of the day. The pattern, which runs along the upper, transports you to the Don Luis I Bridge, from where you can see the panoramic view of the city.
In the midsole, a customized print with typography simulating graffiti has been included giving them an urban touch. The sole combines patterns in black, blue, and orange.
Technical characteristics of the R.2000 Maratona do Porto
The R.2000 sneakers are prepared to withstand the pace required for long and medium distance competitions. This is the latest addition to the famous R line. The most complete ones that Joma has manufactured so far.
The upper is made of breathable custom nylon with small VTS perforations, improving sweat ventilation. We have added JOMA SPORTECH thermosealed TPU providing firmness, support, and fit to the upper in the lacing area. As for the midsole, it has been constructed with FULL DUAL PULSOR technology. Featuring FLY REACTIVE in the rear part, a super lightweight and flexible foam offering excellent propulsion. The 10 mm drop favors this responsiveness. Featuring higher density phylon in the front part in order to absorb impacts. Finally, the outsole is made of DURABILITY rubber with a very good resistance to abrasion on asphalt, extending its wear-and-tear.
