The certification of the Desert Pro Series strengthens Joma’s commitment to pickleball through dedicated product development and its presence across the sport’s leading international tours.
As pickleball continues to establish itself as the world’s fastest-growing sport, with more than 20 million players and an increasingly visible expansion across Europe and Spain, Joma has taken another step forward by making this discipline one of its key strategic priorities for the coming years.
The brand has developed a comprehensive strategy that goes beyond sports sponsorship. Joma is supporting the growth of pickleball across every area of its ecosystem, including competition, federations, athletes and product development.
The latest step in this strategy comes with the certification of its new Desert Pro Series paddle by the USA Pickleball Association (USAPA), the governing body responsible for approving equipment used in official competitions. With this milestone, Joma officially enters a new product category and reaffirms its commitment to one of the fastest-growing sports in the world.
A certification that enables official competition
The certification granted by USAPA confirms that the Desert Pro Series paddle meets the technical standards required for use in tournaments governed by the organization. Beyond the approval itself, it validates the product development process and allows players to use the paddle in official competition.
This achievement also represents another step in Joma’s strategy to offer an increasingly comprehensive pickleball range, expanding its portfolio beyond apparel and footwear.
What is the USAPA-certified Desert Pro Series paddle like?
The new paddle has been developed to meet the demands of competitive play. Its advanced construction delivers a solid feel at impact and precise performance on every shot.
Its main technical features include:
- 18K carbon fiber surface, providing firm contact with the ball for greater shot consistency, improved directional control and enhanced stability during high-intensity play.
- Honeycomb polypropylene core, designed to deliver consistent ball response while reducing vibrations at impact, helping players achieve greater control.
- 16 mm thickness, increasing shot stability and expanding the sweet spot.
- Weight ranging from 221 to 235 grams, offering a balanced combination of maneuverability and solidity.
Another step in Joma’s commitment to pickleball
The certification of the Desert Pro Series marks another milestone in Joma’s pickleball strategy. The Spanish brand is the Official Footwear Partner of the Pickle Pro Tour, the only official circuit endorsed by the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET), where this latest innovation was recently introduced. In addition, as the RFET’s Official Technical Sponsor, Joma also equips Spain’s men’s and women’s national pickleball teams.
Internationally, Joma is also part of the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA), the leading professional circuit in the United States and a strategic market for the sport’s continued growth. This is complemented by the brand’s sponsorship of national and international players, further supporting the development of pickleball worldwide.
