Of the national federations sponsored by Joma at the European Indoor Athletics Indoor Championships 2023, five took medals home: Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Serbia and Slovenia, winning 14 medals in total.

The Joma athletics federations won a total of 14 medals at the European Indoor Athletics Indoor Championships 2023, held at the Ataköy Athletics Arena in Istanbul (Turkey). With Italy at the top of the Joma medal tally, and third in the overall ranking, the five national delegations sponsored by Joma, have all ended up in the competition podium. Results that leave the brand in top positions in one of the most important high-level European competitions.

#JomaTeam Europeans accumulate 14 medals

  • ITALIY. Italy had a brilliant performance in Istanbul, winning six medals and taking fourth place in the overall ranking with a spectacular third place. The two gold medals went to Zane Weir (22.06 m) in shot-put and Samuele Ceccarelli (6.48) in men’s 60 meters. As for the silver medals, the women who excelled were: Dariya Derkach (14.20 m) in triple-jump, Larissa Iapichino (6.97 m) in long-jump and the girls 4x400m relay (3:28:61). In the latter two categories, Italy set new national records. Marcell Jacobs‘ silver (6.50) in 60m entered in the tally-count too.
  • SPAIN. On the one hand, Spain’s Adrian Ben was the athlete of the RFEA with the best result in Istanbul, after winning gold in 800 meters. On the other hand, Adel Meechal won a silver medal (7:41.75), according to him, a very special one in men’s 3000 meters.
  • CZECH REPUBLIC. One of the latest additions to the #JomaTeam, Czech Republic won valuable metals at this European Athletics 2023 PC. The silver medal already went to Tomas Stanek (21.90 m) in shot-put, while the bronze went to an athlete Amálie Svabikova (4.70 m) in pole-vault.
  • SERBIA. Serbia’s Istanbul 2023 representatives Ivana Vuleta (6.91 m) in women’s long-jump and Elzan Bibc (7:44.03) in men’s 3000 meters returned from Turkey with a bronze medal each.
  • SLOVENIA. The Slovenian delegation won two silver medals in women’s categories. Tina Sutej (4.75 m) in women’s pole vault and Anita Horvat (2:00.54) in women’s 800m climbed the podium after their respective events.
