Croatia face Spain in the quarter-final of the World Handball Championships being held in France. Both teams are former World Champions; Croatia lifting the title in 2003 and Spain in 2005 and 2013. The tie promises to be one of the most exciting matches of the tournament.
In the previous round, Croatia defeated Egypt in a closely contested match, winning by a single goal in a thrilling 21-20 victory. Spain also won by a single goal when overcoming a resilient Brazilian team 28-27.
The quarter-final clash will take place at 8.45pm on Tuesday 24 January at L’Arena in Montpellier. The two teams last met in the semi-finals of the European Championships in 2016 when Spain won 33-29.
