Villarreal eliminated Bayern Munich after a 1-1 draw. This result takes the Submarine team to the semifinals of the Champions League after 16 years without reaching it.
The JomaTeam had already eliminated Juventus in the round of 16 and another previous victory against Bayern Munich at La Cerámica. With this victory, they have once again achieved a historic qualification. The match was very close though, but in the end it was a draw at the Alllianz Arena. The long-awaited goal came from Samu Chukwueze in the 88th minute, who made Unai Emery’s team reach the Champions League semifinals after such a long time. They have thus prevented Bayern from forcing their way through and overcoming their ultra-defensive approach.
