The West Indies go for a World Twenty20 Double

The West Indies will go for a double Sunday when both its men’s and women’s teams seek World Twenty20 championships in a doubleheader final in Kolkata, India. The women will play Australia before the men face England.

It will be only the second time one team has contested both finals. In 2010, Australia’s women beat New Zealand, but its men fell against England.

West Indies, sponsor by JOMA, won both semifinals in a doubleheader in Mumbai on Thursday. First its women narrowly held off previously unbeaten New Zealand, then the men chased down a target of 193 runs by the host and favorite India, reducing a roaring home crowd of 32,000 to near silence when Andre Russell blasted the winning runs with two balls to spare. Whoever wins the men’s final will be the first two-time winner of the World T20
