Mr. José Manuel Franco, Secretary of State for Sport and President of the Superior Sports Council, visited the facilities that the Spanish company JOMA SPORT has in Portillo de Toledo; the company’s headquarters where the main offices and the logistics center are located.

D. Fructuoso López, president and founder of the company hosted the visit, where the Secretary of State was able find out about the company’s situation, its challenges and difficulties.

The Secretary of State could learn about the company’s situation, its challenges and the difficulties it faces in Spain and abroad.

José Manuel Franco was overwhelmed by the company’s activities carried out in Portillo de Toledo.

The facilities visited consist of 60,000 square meters with more than 250 employees divided into Administrative Areas, Design Areas and the Logistics Center.

The company’s activities are operated from Portillo de Toledo supplying to over 120 countries in which it currently has a commercial presence in, as well as the day-to-day management of the nine subsidiaries that make up JOMA SPORT group (United States, Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Russia, United Kingdom, Germany, China and Latin America).

In addition, all of JOMA’s products are designed in these facilities: sports footwear, technical textile collection, fashion textile lines and exclusive collections for teams sponsored by the brand, such as the Spanish Olympic Committee, Villarreal C.F. football club, the Spanish national track-and-field team, handball, rugby, Spanish indoor-football teams, England’s Swansea City and Italian BC Atalanta football teams.

The logistics center is characterized as one of the most innovative in its sector in Spain. In recent years, the company has invested heavily in streamlining the movement of goods and outgoing orders, which has made service, one of JOMA SPORT’s strong points making it the best equipment brand in Spain for the past decade, certified by sports market consultants. The company has the most advanced robotic logistics technology in operation, a mega structure of 1,500 m2 with the capacity to store 4 million product references, consisting of five robots that process orders very quickly and help to carry out the immediate shipment of sports equipment to its customers.
