The Spanish Olympic delegation continues to add to its list of medals at Tokyo 2020. Galician Ana Peleteiro’s triple jump won a bronze medal that will go down in history. Peleteiro was competing in her first Games and did not disappoint, taking third place in an event in which the gold medal and the world record was won by Venezuela’s Yulimar Rojas.
In addition, on Sunday 1, gymnast Ray Zapata was awarded the silver medal despite having the same points as Israel’s Artem Dolgopyat. Zapata nailed his floor exercise, but Dolgopyat performed a more difficult event, which earned him the Olympic gold.
