Michael Obasuyi delivered one of the strongest performances of his career at the Paris Diamond League, in a result of major prestige for Joma. The Belgian athlete set two national records in the 110m hurdles on the same day and confirmed his best competitive form at one of the most demanding international meetings of the year.
His first mark came in the heats, where Obasuyi stopped the clock at 13.16 to improve the Belgian record. Later, in the final, he lowered his own mark again to 13.10, a time that earned him fourth place in a race of exceptional level.
Two national records in one afternoon
Michael Obasuyi’s result at the Paris Diamond League stands out both for the time and for the demands of the event. The 110m hurdles is a discipline shaped by the start, technical precision and the ability to maintain rhythm between barriers.
In that context, the Joma athlete responded from the first round with a top-level performance and did it again in the final, where he shared the track with some of the best specialists in the world. The Belgian closed his participation with a time of 13.10 and a fourth place of real competitive value.
Thanks to that 13.10, Michael Obasuyi has become the European leader for 2026 in the 110m hurdles. The mark comes at a key point in the season, just over a month before the European Championships in Birmingham, which will take place from 10 to 16 August.
