Joma launches the first edition of the official shoe of the Florence Marathon with its high-end STORM VIPER model.
Just a few months ago, Joma announced that it would become the new technical sponsor of the Florence Marathon, which will take place in the Italian city on November 27th. The official STORM VIPER MARATHON OF FLORENCE shoe features a spectacular design maintaining the latest innovation in technology of the model with added increase in stability and comfort.
In the first edition of the Florence Marathon sponsored by Joma, the renown sports brand, wanted to capture the city’s identity and translate it into an exclusive sneaker design. The result of the mix of colors and shapes gives rise to something never seen before in the streets of Florence.
Exclusive design inspired by symbols of the city
Two colors stand out within the design of the STORM VIPER MARATHON FLORENCE MARATHON: red and white, those of its flag. The red runs along the entire upper, while the white is on the mid-sole. In this part, you can appreciate numerous lily flowers, also included in the flag, as they are another symbol of the city.
On the other hand, and on the side of the shoe, you can read the name of the marathon in white, contrasting with the rest. Likewise, the J logo appears in the colors of the Italian flag to finish capturing the essence of the city and the country.
Joining the STABILIS technology evolution
The mid-sole continues the renovation of the previous edition, designed to maintain the same reactivity while increasing stability through three important modifications: the incorporation of the STABILIS SYSTEM in the heel, a larger base for entry impact and a wider sole.
The STABILIS SYSTEM is applied through a stiffer rigid piece injected in the heel containing the foot’s movement at entry providing greater stability to the foot-step. This solidity improves runner’s performance as the foot does not have to be secured before impact. This increases the protection of the joints, avoiding injuries.
Stability is reinforced with a much wider mid-sole and a straight heel shape increasing the base of the foot-step.
Improved stability is aided by an internal toe cap reinforcement. Thus, the runner will feel the safety of the new Storm Viper in all phases of the foot-step.
Another change is the comfort of a renewed upper with more flexibility and more VTS ventilation. Likewise, the tongue support with two elastic bands keeps it in place during the race; and the reduction of rubber in the sole reduces the weight of this part. Low-abrasion DURABILITY technology continues to be used to extend the life of the shoe.
Storm Viper is a shoe aimed at runners with a pace above four seconds, in training sessions of 4 to 6 days and competitions of medium and long distance. It has a DROP 8, another of the new features inherited from its predecessor.
