More than 20 athletes and 15 federations will reflect Joma’s international reach at the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships.
The Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships will bring together more than 20 Joma athletes from different countries from 10 to 16 August. The Spanish brand will also supply kit to 15 federations and take part in the event as the official technical sponsor of European Athletics.
Race walking, marathon running, sprinting and hurdles will shape Joma’s sporting presence on a highly demanding stage. The competition will also showcase its high-performance footwear, with technical models designed to support its athletes as they compete for European titles.
Race walking brings together Joma’s largest athlete group
More than a dozen race walkers will compete in the R-5000 over the half marathon and marathon race walk distances.
Miguel Ángel López, Raquel González, José Manuel Pérez, Manuel Bermúdez and Lucía Redondo will represent Spain in the marathon race walk. They will be joined by Christopher Linke for Germany and Camille Moutard for France.
The half marathon race walk will feature Spain’s Paul McGrath, Álvaro López and Antía Chamosa; France’s Ana Delahaie and Pauline Stey; Italy’s Alexandrina Mihai and Andrea Cosi; Tiziana Spiller for Hungary; and Frederick Weigel for Germany.
They will all compete in the R-5000, a shoe developed for fast paces on the road. Its midsole combines Carbon Plate and Fly Reactive technology to provide a responsive ride over extended efforts.
Two Joma athletes in the marathon
The marathon on Sunday 16 August will feature Portugal’s Carlos Costa and Italy’s Alessia Tuccitto. Both will compete in the RS-9000, Joma’s 126-gram running shoe developed for elite competition.
The model combines Light Reactive technology with an internal carbon plate to support energy return and stability at fast race paces.
Sprinting and hurdles at Alexander Stadium
Ericka Maseras, Aleeya Sibbons, Jean-Christian Zirignon and David Landim will form part of the national 4x100m relay squads for Spain, Great Britain, Sweden and Portugal. All four will race in the R-1100 sprint spikes, developed to respond during the start, the bend and the final acceleration.
Josh Faulds will complete Joma’s track representation in the 400m hurdles with the new R-100 development model, which is still undergoing refinement in competition.
Michael Obasuyi will miss the 110m hurdles through injury. The Joma athlete had been one of the leading medal contenders after recording the fastest European time of the year and twice lowering the Belgian national record, eventually taking it to 13.10.

Fifteen federations to wear Joma in Birmingham
Albania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, North Macedonia, Andorra, Spain, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Moldova and Armenia will wear Joma kit during the championships.
This representation complements the brand’s role as the official technical sponsor of European Athletics. Event organisation, national teams, athletes and technical product will come together across seven days of competition.
