The Joma-equipped team claimed their first European medal and secured a place at the next Men’s World Cup.
Finland’s men’s national volleyball team finished EuroVolley 2026 with a bronze medal and qualification for the 2027 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Cup. With Joma as their official technical sponsor, the team secured their first continental podium finish and improved on the fourth place achieved in 2007.
Finland’s first European podium
Finland secured third place with a 3-0 victory over Slovenia at the Unipol Forum in Assago, Italy. The team won 25-23, 25-20 and 29-27 to complete the tournament with an unprecedented result for Finnish volleyball.
Their road to the podium began with four victories in the group stage in Tampere. Finland then defeated Greece 3-2 in the round of 16. In the quarter-finals, they produced one of the standout results of the tournament by beating reigning world champions Italy 3-2 and securing their place among Europe’s top four teams.
Qualification for the 2027 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Cup
Finland’s performance at the European Championship earned them a place at the 2027 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Cup. The national team will return to the leading global competition for the tenth time.
This bronze medal caps a landmark 2026 for Finnish volleyball, following their CEV Volleyball European League title earlier in the year. Joma has supported the team throughout this journey as official technical sponsor, from their European League triumph to their first EuroVolley podium finish.
