
MIGUEL ÁNGEL LÓPEZ
Miguel Ángel López, also known as ‘El Pájaro’ López, is an outstanding Spanish athlete specialised in race walking. He was born on 3 July 1988 in Llerena, Badajoz, Spain. He has been a prominent figure in world athletics, especially in the discipline of race walking, where he has achieved numerous successes and awards throughout his career.
Miguel Ángel López has represented Spain in many international competitions, including the World Athletics Championships and the Olympic Games.
He won the gold medal in the 20km race walk at the 2015 World Athletics Championships in Beijing, China, marking an important milestone in his sporting career.
At the 2016 Rio Olympics, he won the gold medal in the same discipline, becoming Olympic champion and cementing his status as one of the world's best race walkers.
He has also competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, winning the bronze medal in the 20km race walk, adding another significant achievement to his career.
