Villarreal C.F
Villarreal Club de Fútbol is a Spanish professional football team. It was founded in 1923 under the name Club Deportivo Villarreal and is based in the town that gives it its name, Villarreal (Castellón).
The Valencian club is known as the yellow submarine and for years competed in the lower divisions. However, 1998 saw its debut in the first division, the highest division in Spanish football. Currently, and from 2013 onwards, it competes with the best teams in the country and is proud to be fighting for the top classification places. It reached second place in the 2007-08 League, and won the IFFHS (International Federation of Football History and Statistics) title of best world team of the month in December 2004.
