The Spanish athletics team won a magnificent three golds among a total medal haul of eight in the European Athletics Championships held last weekend in Amsterdam. The success included four silver and one bronze which meant the Joma wearing Spanish team finished sixth in the overall medal standings.
Ruth Beitia won a third consecutive high jump title while her 200 metre sprint colleague Bruno Hortelano also won gold along with Ilias Fifas who triumphed in the 5000m.
