Pablo Carreño wins Chinese Open doubles title

Pablo Carreño is in the best form of his career after he and partner, Rafael Nadal celebrated their first ATP World Tour doubles title together on Sunday at the Chinese Open in Beijing.

The Spaniards beat American Jack Sock and Aussie Bernard Tomic 6-7(6), 6-2, 10-8. For Carreño, the title is the latest highlight in a breakthrough doubles season which sees the right-hander elevated to 35th on the individual ATP Tour ranking and 25th on the doubles table. Achieving positions within the top 40 in both classifications is something few players on the circuit can claim.

The Chinese Open title is Carreño’s second doubles title and his sixth final appearance of the season. The Joma player took home the Quito doubles title in February playing with Argentine Guillermo Duran. He now has three titles to his name this season; one singles and two doubles.

Congratulations Pablo!
