West Indies men and women win Cricket World Twenty20 titles

West Indies mens and womens teams swept to dramatic wins over England and Australia this weekend. Both teams, wearing JOMA, lifted the trophies to become Cricket World Twenty20 Champions in India.

The mens team fought back in dramatic fashion with four sixes in the final over to beat England, one of the tournament favourites, and became the first team to win the World Cup twice; their first title coming in 2012.

Meanwhile, Windies women won the World Twenty20 for the first time in its history by beating Australia 149-2 in 19.3 overs with eight wickets to spare, making it a double celebration for the Caribbean islanders.

For many years, cricket has been a sport dominated by teams from Australia, India and England, but it’s appeal has been growing in many other parts of the world, as this double success for the West Indies demonstrates.
