Pablo Carreño seals Spain’s historic comeback in the Davis Cup

Joma stands alongside the Spanish National Tennis Team in a comeback for the history books, with two Joma players as key figures in the qualification for the Final 8.

The Spanish National Tennis Team experienced a moment to remember: its epic comeback in the Davis Cup that will remain forever in the history of Spanish tennis. Thanks to this achievement, Spain will compete in the Final 8, to be held in Bologna from November 18 to 23. It was the only host team to win, overcoming for the first time in its history a 0-2 deficit.

At the heart of this feat stood two names—both Joma players. On one side, Pablo Carreño established himself as a fundamental pillar of the national team. He completed the comeback against Denmark, which had been fought since Sunday. In an all-or-nothing effort, Carreño went all out and secured Spain’s qualification.

On the other side, Spain’s success would not have been possible without the outstanding performance of Pedro Martínez Portero, also sponsored by Joma. He became the hero in doubles, defeating Holger Rune so that Carreño could later seal the ticket to the Final 8. His fighting spirit and determination were crucial in keeping morale high and putting pressure on the opponent until the end.

Joma, present in every Spanish victory

Thanks to collective effort and a high level of competitiveness, the Spanish National Team fought for every point until they achieved their goal: qualifying for the Davis Cup Final 8.

Now, Spain, already six-time champion (2000, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2019), will have the chance to fight for a seventh “Salad Bowl” in November.

For Joma, this victory resonates twice as much, as the brand is the technical sponsor of the Spanish team and two of its sponsored players were decisive in this historic achievement.
