This year 2024, the Firenze Marathon celebrates its 40th edition, the third with Joma as the official technical sponsor of the renowned Italian marathon. On this occasion, Joma announces the launch of the official shoes for the Firenze Marathon, with which participants will travel the streets of one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and the world. The chosen model is R-1000, which stands out for the incorporation of a carbon plate and for offering maximum reactivity, one of its fundamental aspects that provide the performance that every runner needs to exceed their limits.
The sneakers have been carefully designed for the event. This year, the Joma team was inspired by an emblematic monument of the city: the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, better known as the Duomo. The coral color of the dome, and the raw and greenish tones of the facade, are reflected on the product resulting in sneakers that are a symbol in themselves. In fact, on the thermosealed material of the upper, details similar to those of the main facade can be appreciated. More than ever, it is a tribute to the history and architecture that define Florence, capturing its essence completely.
In short, in the 40th edition of the Firenze Marathon, participants will pass through the most emblematic places of the city, starting and finishing at this star location: the Duomo. And they will do so with the new exclusive sneaker on November 24th, 2024. The route once again combines culture and sport.
Advanced technology to achieve maximum performance
The high-end R-1000 shoe features a more flexible and lower density plate, ideal for experienced runners looking to improve their performance without sacrificing comfort. Its less aggressive and more stable design makes it a perfect choice for training and competing.
More specifically, the CARBON PLATE has a less “aggressive” curvature, and together with the FLY REACTIVE technology of the midsole, and its 7 mm drop, they achieve superior reactivity, while also absorbing impacts.
As for the upper, it is made of technical mesh, very light and breathable. The VTS ventilation system regulates the foot temperature to remain constant even in the most extreme moments. On the other hand, the thermosealed adjustment system JOMA SPORTECH is located in areas where more support is needed. Together with the ergonomic collar, they provide a comfortable fit.
Finally, the sole is made of high-quality DURABILITY rubber with resistance to abrasion on asphalt. It has been placed in parts that have more contact with the ground to maintain its lightness intact; they only weigh 240 grams.
