Joma sneakers will go to the Athletics World Championship in Tokyo

Joma’s high-performance models will be put to the test at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

The World Athletics Championships in Tokyo will once again be the stage where Joma demonstrates that innovation and passion for sport can secure an impressive presence at the very highest international level. More than 20 athletes from 11 different countries will compete in the most demanding event on the athletics calendar wearing Joma’s R line shoes — models designed to meet the unique demands of each discipline.

Continuous commitment to product improvement and development is already a hallmark of Joma’s DNA. That is why, at the upcoming World Championships, its footwear— increasingly refined, technical, and cutting-edge — will also be one of the event’s great protagonists. With each model, Joma athletes will aim for the podium on the world’s biggest athletics stage.

With which shoes will Joma athletes compete?

Joma’s R&D team has tested the efficiency of the footwear in its R line, the brand’s benchmark competition range. Each shoe is the result of a rigorous methodology designed to ensure quality, durability, and maximum performance in competition.

R-1200 and R-1100: designed for speed

  • R-1100: mixed-speed shoes developed for track and hurdle events up to 400m. Equipped with a Carbon Plate and an ultra-light Light Reactive midsole, they deliver exceptional performance by boosting propulsion and energy transfer, enabling a faster and more efficient stride.
  • R-1200: intended for distance events. Their Fly Reactive technology absorbs impact and quickly recovers its shape to propel the athlete in endurance races.

R-5000, R-4000 and R-3000: built for the road

  • R-5000: equipped with a Carbon Plate and a 6 mm drop, weighing just 247 g. Their lightness helps athletes reach high paces in short-distance competitions without being limited by weight.
  • R-3000: slightly heavier (260 g) but equally reactive thanks to the Fly Reactive midsole and plate, suitable for middle and long distances.
  • R-4000: the lightest of the line (174 g), providing excellent ground contact. Its minimal weight reduces effort and facilitates quick, agile movements. With a moderate 6 mm drop, it strikes the balance between speed and tendon protection, though at the expense of cushioning.
