Joma ensures Spanish athletes’ preparation for the 2025 World Championships

Spanish sports brand Joma, technical sponsor of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA), is strengthening its commitment to national elite athletics through its support of the National Relay Program, Trail Running Plan, and training camps for race walking, one of Spain’s most decorated disciplines.

After more than twelve years of close collaboration, Joma and the RFEA continue to reinforce their partnership and shared commitment to Spanish athletes. As the RFEA’s official technical sponsor since 2013, Joma is consolidating its support by guaranteeing the training camps and preparation ahead of the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo and the World Mountain & Trail Running Championships in Canfranc-Pyrenees. The company will support three of the federation’s key pillars: the National Relay Plan, the “Road to Canfranc-Pyrenees” Trail Running program, and the preparation of Spanish race walkers, who aim to repeat their Olympic successes on the global stage.

Joma National Relay Plan

Following two medals and two national records at the last World Relay Championships, Spanish athletes — with three relay teams already qualified for Tokyo 2025 — will prepare for the competition with the support of Joma. This initiative gives name to the JOMA National Relay Plan (PNR), one of the RFEA’s most successful projects in recent years.

Joma will fund and support the training camps, ensuring optimal preparation for the World Championships and helping Spanish athletes arrive in top condition.

Additionally, Joma will make possible the pre-competition camp for the relay teams competing in the European U20 Championships in Tampere, as well as the Christmas training camps for all relay categories under the JOMA PNR, including the six senior teams (men’s, women’s, and mixed 4×100 and 4×400), and the full relay squads of the U20 and U23 categories.

Commitment to trail running and support for Spanish race walking

As part of its long-term strategy, Joma will also support the national trail running and race walking programs. Specifically, the brand will fund the training camp leading up to the World Mountain & Trail Running Championships, set to be held in Canfranc-Pyrenees this September—a major goal for Spanish trail runners aiming for podium finishes on home soil.

In the discipline of race walking, Joma will support the pre-competition training camp ahead of the Tokyo World Championships, further reinforcing its commitment to one of the most successful events in Spanish athletics. Joma’s strong involvement in the sport — which began with the launch of its first competition race-walking shoe — has led to individual sponsorship of nearly 50% of the Spanish race walkers competing at the 2025 Worlds.
