Exclusive collection and sustainable materials for Tokyo 2020

Joma and the Spanish Olympic Committee present the exclusive collection of equipment for the Spanish delegation in Tokyo 2020.

Emphasizing on the podium garments made of sustainable materials.

As the Tokyo 2020 Games are finally approaching, Spanish athletes know the equipment with which they will live the Olympic experience. Joma, as technical sponsor of the Spanish Olympic Committee, has prepared an extensive collection consisting of more than 30 garments divided into three lines: parade uniforms, awards and Olympic Village. In addition to an exclusive line of footwear.

The designs are 100% Spanish made. More than 20 people who make up the design, marketing and communication team of the brand have been involved in its development. A team based at the company’s headquarters in Portillo de Toledo, formed among other profiles by professional athletes.

For the first time, the Spanish Olympians will contribute to the sustainability of the planet, reducing plastic pollution from thousands of waste bottles and reducing carbon emissions into the atmosphere. The plastics, which are seriously damaging biodiversity, are processed into 100% recycled polyester yarn and subsequently into more than one million meters of sustainable fabric that is used to manufacture garments for Joma’s textile collection.

At Joma we have put a lot of effort into the launch and communication of this collection, as much as our athletes have put into this Olympic cycle with our sights set on Tokyo. Especially on this occasion when the circumstances have been extraordinary. In tribute to their effort and endurance, Joma has launched the campaign “Being an Olympian” which shows all the sacrifice they have had to make to achieve their dream: to be Olympians, materializing itself upon receiving the Joma Olympic equipment.

In design, Joma imprints in recognition to the “Spain” brand so that the clothing enhances the feeling and pride of each athlete for belonging to the Spanish Olympic delegation. Different versions have been designed for men and women, with a more feminine style and molded patterns, as well as a wide variety of garments to adapt to weather conditions.

AWARDS Line

For the Awards line, a classic white design has been chosen for the tracksuit, polo shirt and T-shirt, detailed in red and yellow and made of a very light and breathable fabric so that athletes feel comfortable in warm weather. The collar and cuffs are original and perforated, as is the back. The MICROMESH SYSTEM or FLATLOCK flat seams are used for breathability and comfort.

The tracksuit features details such as the zipper at the bottom of the pants, with the idea of providing comfort to our athletes, or the embroidered logo on fabric application highlighting its quality.

This line will ensure that our athletes make it to the podium at the medal ceremony in Tokyo, with equipment that will provide safety, design and the latest technologies to enhance their comfort.

VILLA and LEISURE TIME line

The Villa uniform line is the one with the greatest variety of garments, colors and fabrics. Each member of the delegation will have at their disposal a raincoat, polo shirt, T-shirt, sweatshirt, long pants, shorts and swimsuit. On this occasion, the colors blue, red and white are predominant, combined with gray, and the fabrics are polyester, cotton and elastane.

Within this uniform line, there is a line of more formal garments for travel and official events, and a more comfortable one for the athletes’ stay in the Olympic Village.

With regard to fabrics, the temperature expected in Tokyo during the Games has been taken into account, so breathable and lightweight fabrics are used.

Parade Line

The crown-jewel of the collection is the PARADE SUITS designed specifically for the inauguration of the Olympics. The design’s main line is the combination of a formal style with a sporty touch to create elegant garments in which the athletes feel comfortable during the parade in the Olympic Stadium. In addition, the jackets are made of 100% RECYCLED MATERIAL.

Men’s:

The athletes, led by Saúl Craviotto, will wear a white jacket, with classic cut and a mao collar, made of 100% RECYCLED material, combined with a 100% cotton polo shirt of pique fabric, also with a mao collar and yellow logos.

The pants are designed with Chino Slim Fit cut, with classic pockets. The suit is combined with a twisted thread.

The Spanish Olympic Committee logo is embroidered on the jacket, in fabric application, and a discreet complement with the Joma logo.

In essence, the Spanish male athletes will look elegant and comfortable.

Women’s:

This year Joma has opted for the combination of jacket and dress for the women represented by Mireia Belmonte.

The white jacket is also made of 100% RECYCLED material. It continues with a semi-engraved long cut to the waist. With a round collar without lapel, French sleeves with side slits and front lining. As in the men’s jacket, the logo of the Spanish Olympic Committee is embroidered on fabric application.

The dress is made of punto roma fabric, creating a very fluid and comfortable garment. The cut is semi-fitted and it adjusts at the waist with a belt of the same fabric and color tone. Joma has chosen a very elegant rounded neckline and fitted armhole.

The look is completed with a cell phone bag in synthetic leather in navy color with the COE shield. It has two straps: one for the shoulder and one for the wrist. Includes a zipper closure.

Exclusive footwear

Along with textiles, Joma has worked on an exclusive line of footwear for the Spanish Olympic Committee consisting of parade shoes, podium shoes, Villa shoes and flip-flops.

In the inaugural parade, the Spanish Olympians will wear the casual C.800 model, a classic style leather shoe reminiscent of the first running shoes designed by Joma in the 70s. It is a white sneaker, of a current fashion look, combined with the red and yellow colors in the Joma logo and incorporating the COE shield. The sole is made of phylon with excellent cushioning characterized by its comfort.

The award line is completed with a SUPERCROSS model shoe, Joma’s top of the line running shoe, designed for Spanish athletes that the Olympians share with the Spanish Team of Athletes Anonymous, which was born from home training during the 2020 confinement. Joma wanted the latter to also be represented at the highest sports level.

For their stay at the Olympic Village, Joma has designed a special version of the most cushioned Joma shoe: STORM VIPER. Designed in red and navy blue in which the word SPAIN stands out and, incorporating the latest technology in running shoes such as the REACTIVEBALL system, which provides maximum reactivity and cushioning; STABILIS, a system of stabilization of the footprint or JOMA SPORTECH in the cut so that the shoe fits perfectly to the foot. To sum up, Joma wants the athletes to feel as comfortable as possible.
