Developed in J Lab, the Marathon II shirt is the centrepiece of the new kit, featuring a technical construction so light that it is barely noticeable while running.
The Joma Trail Team debuted its new kit at the event held in the Chamonix Valley, with the Marathon II shirt taking centre stage. The athletes raced in it for the first time during a weekend of sustained effort at one of trail running’s biggest global venues.
Three distances for the new kit’s debut
The Marathon II went directly from J Lab to the mountains. Caterina Stenta, Luca Merli and Mario Mirabel competed over 15 km; Leonard Mitrica, who finished among the top ten, and Pablo Bautista took on the 60 km distance; while Beatriz Parrón and Claudio Díaz represented the team over 107 km.
Competing across different distances marked the debut of a kit built around a clear goal: to minimise the sensation of weight and allow each athlete to focus on the terrain and pace. Although every member of the Joma Trail Team followed a different route, the kit made the project’s collective identity visible and brought the work carried out in J Lab into real race conditions.
Marathon II: a trail-running shirt weighing just 55 grams
Lightness is one of the defining features of the Marathon II. In size M, the sleeveless version weighs just 55 grams, while the short-sleeved version weighs 73 grams. Its construction is designed to keep carried weight to a minimum.
The shirt is made from jacquard fabric and features Micro-Mesh System technology. Together, these technical elements support breathability and help maintain consistent ventilation during exertion. Comfortable seams complete a garment designed to feel comfortable while the athlete is moving.
Every element serves a clear purpose: allowing runners to stay focused on the terrain, pace and race. It reflects an approach to product development based on real-world use, with lightness and functionality as priorities.
The debut in the Chamonix Valley took the new Joma Trail Team kit straight into action across the 15, 60 and 107 km distances.
