Cuban National Team
The Cuban National Football Team represents the country in international competitions. It was founded in 1938 and is headquartered in Havana. It was the first team from a Caribbean country to reach the quarter-finals in a World Cup, in France in 1938. This professional team is not the only one to participate in the World Cup, however, as the younger teams have competed several times. The team´s track record includes a victory in the Caribbean Cup in 2012, in which it has also been runner-up on three occasions, and a Gold Medal in the Central American and Caribbean Games.
