Running shoes R.5000 21 man red
Description
Joma has gathered opinions from all the athletes who have tried the lightest shoe in the company's history, with a weight of only 167 grams, including an account of their first experience and impressions of the R-5000.
The shoe is aimed at runners with excellent technique, appropriate muscle work and who control their foot strike very well, making excessive cushioning or foot strike support unnecessary, with a race pace below 2.3 minutes per kilometre.
It is recommended for series or short distances in training and long distance competition. The minimal weight added by the shoe to your body during the race decreases the load and contributes to optimise your results.
Joma has worked especially hard to achieve maximum ventilation through the improved VTS system. The direction of the mesh pattern achieves an internal flow of air from the toe toward the back, cooling the foot on each stride.
The shoe is built with the JOMA SPORTECH system that makes for a perfect fit from the laces to the heel using injected rubber, which is lighter than the classic TPU; and internal reinforcement enables lowering of the sides to eliminate the excess material that runners with a well-trained foot strike do not need.
The weight-lightening efforts are even more evident on the tongue. This is made of a single flat piece weighing just a few grams that will go unnoticed by the runner. To enhance comfort, a very thin foam inner piece is added to secure the laces. These are flat and made of very lightweight fabric contributing to the overall ultra-lightness of the shoe.
Its midsole results in a low-profile shoe with 6mm drop. The reactivity provided by the FLY REACTIVE system allows you to take off quickly without rising too far from the ground and thus saving energy.
FLY REACTIVE is Joma's great contribution to the R-5000 with regard to shock absorption. It is a new technology developed by the brand and applied to the midsole that consists of a very light material that returns a large amount of energy in each step. Its flexibility and lightness allow it to rapidly recover its shape driving the foot as it pushes off the ground. It provides ultralight cushioning and a uniform gait cycle, ensuring the foot feels comfortable at every stage.
Joma carried out a thorough study of the biomechanics of the foot strike of professional runners prior to developing the R.5000. This results in the sole being reduced to the points where the sole of the foot has contact with the surface. This lightens the weight of this part of the shoe while continuing to offer adequate protection. The quality of the high-density rubber provided by the DURABILITY system is maintained.
In the toe area, the sole has a larger surface area to protect the shoe from wear and tear.

360°
Manufacturing system that improves the bond between the sole and the upper, facilitating the natural distribution of weight in the step.
Durability
High-resistance rubber that delays wear due to abrasion.
Flexo
Flexion lines system located ergonomically on the sole to offer the smoothest transition from heel to toe with each step.
Fly Reactive
It provides ultra-light cushioning in the midsole, necessary for long distances in competition or short intervals in training.
Glove System
Mounting system between the insole and the upper that provides greater comfort and reduces weight, resulting in a single piece. Both parts are sewn flat and without protruding seams.
Sportech
Injected rubber that prevents seams and other rigid materials on the upper part of the shoe. Providing lightness, comfort, greater flexibility and better fit to the foot. The thickness varies according to the protection and resistance needs of each area.
VTS
Ventilation system that allows air to enter, promotes perspiration, maintains a constant temperature, preventing the foot from overheating.
