Joma and the Portuguese Olympic Committee renew their commitment towards Los Angeles 2028

A partnership with Olympic vision

Joma Sport and the Portuguese Olympic Committee (COP) have renewed their collaboration as part of a joint strategy that will support Team Portugal throughout the Olympic cycle leading to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games (LA28). This alliance strengthens the identity of Portuguese sports in international competitions, ensuring a cohesive and professional image.

Direct support for federations and athletes

One of the key pillars of this agreement is the tangible benefit it offers to Portuguese sports federations. Joma provides exceptionally favorable conditions:

  • 50% immediate discount on the purchase of sports equipment.

  • An additional 5% discount, and another 10% if Joma is chosen as the official supplier.

In addition, all athletes qualified for Los Angeles 2028 will receive their competition kits free of charge, personalized with the COP base design and each federation’s logo. This not only reduces financial pressure but also ensures a strong and unified visual presence.

Commitment to identity, athletic success, and global projection

This renewed partnership between the Portuguese Olympic Committee and Joma reinforces the visual identity of Portuguese sport, while guaranteeing a consistent and representative image of the national colors across all international events.

Joma will also supply official Team Portugal gear for every international competition throughout the Olympic cycle leading up to LA28. Key events include the European Youth Olympic Festival Skopje 2025 and the Winter Olympic Games Milano-Cortina 2026. This long-term continuity reflects a strategic relationship that has already spanned three consecutive Olympic cycles.

Official statements and Joma’s international presence in the Olympic sphere

Fernando Gomes, President of the Portuguese Olympic Committee, emphasized the significance of this collaboration for the present and future of Portuguese sport:

“This agreement covers all the needs of Team Portugal throughout the Olympic cycle leading to LA28, offers very advantageous conditions for sports federations, and provides unprecedented visual cohesion within our Olympic movement.”

Marina López, General Manager of Joma Sport S.A., highlighted the importance of maintaining this long-standing alliance:

“It is a great honor to collaborate with the Portuguese Olympic Committee, sharing values of excellence and perseverance. We are motivated to continue this journey together toward Los Angeles 2028.”

This commitment is part of Joma’s broader international presence as Spain’s leading sportswear brand, founded in 1965. With a footprint in more than 140 countries, Joma maintains a strong focus on high-performance sports. During the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the brand outfitted 15% of all participating athletes, further solidifying its reputation within the Olympic ecosystem.

In addition to the COP, Joma is an Olympic Partner of seven other national Olympic committees, collaborates with more than 20 national federations, and supports numerous individual athletes. This global reach reaffirms Joma’s dedication to Olympic values and the development of sport across disciplines.
