Paul McGrath shines on the European stage and claims the gold medal in the Half Marathon Race Walk at the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships. The Joma athlete crossed the finish line in first place, competing in the Joma R-5000 shoes.
The result consolidates Paul McGrath’s position among Europe’s race walking elite. Throughout the race, he delivered a strong performance at the most important event of the season, adding another international podium to his record.
This medal in Birmingham 2026 also extends his excellent run of results. In 2024, Paul McGrath claimed silver in the 20km Race Walk at the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships. Since then, the Spaniard has also reached the world podium with bronze in Tokyo 2025, already competing with Joma, strengthening his position at the top of international athletics.

Alongside Paul McGrath, two other Joma athletes have reached the podium in this event: Andrea Cosi in the men’s category, who claimed bronze, and Alexandrina Mihai, who won silver in the women’s category.
Meanwhile, Joma secured two more podium finishes in the race walk marathon events thanks to Spaniards Miguel Ángel López, who took silver in the men’s race at this distance, and Raquel González, who claimed bronze in the women’s category and secured the second European medal of her career.
