Delfino Pescara 1936, commonly known as Pescara Calcio or simply Pescara, is an Italian football club based in the Abruzzo city of Pescara, officially founded on July 4, 1936. The team currently competes in Serie B, Italy’s second national division.
Pescara boasts a significant sporting tradition, having competed in 7 Serie A seasons and as many as 40 Serie B campaigns.
It is the only football club from the Abruzzo region to have reached the top flight (Serie A) and the only one to have competed consistently in the second division over several decades.
One of the most exciting moments in the club’s recent history came in the 2011-2012 season, which culminated in winning the Serie B championship. That year, the team showcased an entertaining, attack-minded style of football and secured promotion to Serie A.
