Joma has gathered all the feedback from athletes who have tried the lightest shoe in the company's history, weighing just 167 grams, where they describe their first experience and sensations with the R.5000.

This R.5000 model is a limited edition in the colours of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation kit, in tribute to Chuso García-Bragado, a sporting legend after competing in his eighth Olympic Games in Tokyo. It includes an inscription on the tongue referencing the milestone. A collectible pair of trainers.

The shoe is aimed at runners with excellent technique, adequate muscular conditioning and who control their footstrike very well, so they do not need excessive cushioning or guidance, and who run at paces below 2.3 minutes per kilometre.

It is recommended for interval sessions or short training distances and for long-distance competition. The minimal weight the shoe adds to your body during the run reduces load and helps you squeeze out your best performances.

Joma has worked specifically to achieve maximum ventilation through the improved VTS system. The orientation of the mesh pattern creates an internal airflow from the toe to the rear, cooling the foot with every stride.

The shoe's construction is achieved using the JOMA SPORTECH system, which adjusts the cut to the foot from the lacing towards the heel with rubber injection, a lighter material than classic TPU; and the internal heel counter has reduced sides to remove excess material that technically proficient-strike runners do not need.

The excellent weight-saving work is most evident in the tongue. Made in a single flat piece, weighing only a few grams that will go unnoticed by the runner. For comfort, a very thin foam inner piece is added to secure the laces. These are flat, made from lightweight thread, contributing to the shoe's total ultralight weight.

Its midsole creates a low-profile shoe with a 6 mm drop. The reactivity provided by the FLY REACTIVE system allows you to launch quickly without lifting too much from the ground, thereby saving energy.

FLY REACTIVE is Joma's major contribution to the R-5000 in terms of cushioning. It is a new technology developed by the brand and applied to the midsole consisting of a very light material that returns a large amount of energy on every step. Its flexibility and lightness allow it to recover its shape very quickly, which propels the foot at toe-off. It provides ultralight cushioning and a uniform stride cycle, in which the foot will feel comfortable at all contact points.

Joma has developed an exhaustive biomechanical study of the gait of the technical runner targeted by the R.5000 to reduce the outsole exclusively to the points where the sole of the foot contacts the surface. This lightens the weight of that part of the shoe while maintaining adequate protection. The quality of the high-density rubber that provides the DURABILITY system is retained.

In the toe area the sole has a larger surface to protect the shoe from wear at toe-off.
