Le Havre Athletic Club

Le Havre Athletic Club is a French football club, based in the city of Le Havre in Upper Normandy. It was founded in 1872 and plays in the French Ligue 2.

It is the doyen of French football. In 1872 Le Havre FC, a rugby club was born. In 1882 an athletics team was founded and the club changed its name to Havre Athletic Club. The football team was founded in 1894. Later on the club changed its name to the one it currently bears. In 1899 and 1900 the team won the French Championship, USFSA, this was a former French championship similar to the Premier League Championship today. In 1959 the club won its first professional title, the French Cup against FC Sochaux, as well as the Champions League Challenger Cup (Super Cup) the same year against OGC Nice.
